Contributing agency

Definition

The law enforcement or judicial agency that submitted a particular entry appearing on a criminal history record.

Context

Load-bearing for corrections: where an entry is wrong or incomplete, the fix generally has to be made by the agency that submitted it, and the FBI record follows.
