Site

Privacy policy

This site has no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter, and nothing to buy, so it has very little to collect. What it does collect is listed here in full, and none of it is used to market to you.

Analytics

This site measures which pages are read and which outbound sources readers follow. It does so through a first-party analytics service run for this site — not Google Analytics, not an advertising network, and not a third-party tracker of any kind. Each event carries the page path, the referring URL if your browser sends one, and the random identifier described below. It carries no name, no email address, and no content you have entered.

There are no advertising pixels, no social media embeds, no session recording, no heatmaps, and no cross-site tracking. This site sets no cookies at all.

Asking a question

The site has an assistant you can ask a question. It is handled on our server rather than in your browser, and a record of the exchange is kept. That record exists for one purpose: to see where this site fails the people reading it. What visitors arrive asking is what decides which pages get written, and in what order.

It is not used to market or remarket to you. It is not attached to a name, an email address, or an account — the site has none of those. It is not sold, and it is not shared for any other party’s purposes. As with any modern web feature, third-party infrastructure handles part of the request in transit.

The assistant never needs your name, your date of birth, your case number, or a copy of any document, and you should not put them in it. Ask it about the process, not about your identity.

Browser storage

KeyWhereWhat it holds and why
cmddesk_aidlocalStorageA random identifier generated in your browser, so repeat visits are counted as one reader rather than several. It is not derived from you, your device, or your address, and it is not linked to any name or account.
cmddesk_srcsessionStorage (this tab only)If you arrived by a link carrying campaign parameters (utm_source and similar) or from another site, the parameters and the referring site's hostname are kept for the duration of the tab. Cleared when the tab closes.
fbc-chat-sidsessionStorage (this tab only)A random identifier created if you open the assistant, so a run of questions is understood as one conversation rather than several strangers. It is not derived from you and is not linked to any name or account. Cleared when the tab closes.

Every entry above can be removed at any time by clearing site data for this domain, with no loss of functionality. Blocking them entirely is fine too — nothing on this site depends on them.

Server logs

The web server records ordinary request logs: IP address, timestamp, requested path, response status, and user agent. These exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. They are not used to build a profile of a reader, are not sold or shared, and are retained only as long as they are operationally useful.

Third parties

Traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare, which provides DNS and content delivery and therefore sees requests in transit as any network provider does. Typefaces are self-hosted rather than loaded from a font CDN, precisely so that reading a page here does not generate a request to a third party. Reading a page involves no other third party at all. The assistant is the one feature that can need processing we do not do on our own hardware; when it does, an infrastructure provider handles that request under contract. Outbound links to government websites are ordinary links: once you follow one, you are on that site and its own policies apply.

Correspondence

If you write to [email protected], we hold that message the way anyone holds email, and we use it to answer you and to correct the site. It is not added to a marketing list and it is not entered into a customer database.

Children

This is a reference site for adults handling their own records. It is not directed at children and it does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this site ever begins collecting something it does not collect today, this page changes before that happens, and the date below records when it last did. Pages get added and rewritten here regularly; none of that gets to quietly add a collection this page does not name.
