About
Contact
There is one address. It reaches the people who write this site, and the most useful thing you can send it is either a sentence here that is wrong or a question this site did not answer.
Editorial correspondence
There is no contact form on this site and no newsletter. Nothing you write is entered into a customer system, and writing to us does not put you on a list.
| Subject | Can we help? | What to include |
|---|---|---|
| Something on this site is wrong | Yes — this is the most useful mail we can get | Quote the sentence and, if you have it, the primary source that contradicts it. Corrections are made to the page, not appended to it. |
| What this site should cover next | Yes | Tell us what you were sent here to find out and what you were asked for. Concrete beats general. |
| A primary source worth citing | Yes | A link to the government publication is enough. We verify before citing. |
| Permission to quote or cite this site | No permission needed | Cite it as you would any reference. A link back is appreciated, not required. |
| The status of your FBI request | No — we cannot help | We have no access to any government system. Contact the FBI or your Channeler directly. |
| Whether your documents will be accepted | No — we cannot advise | That decision belongs to the authority receiving them. Ask them, in writing, before you pay for anything. |
| Legal or immigration advice | No | We are not lawyers and this site is not advice. Consult a licensed attorney or accredited representative. |
Corrections are read and acted on. A figure stated here without the regulation that sets it is a defect worth reporting even if the figure turns out to be right.
Where to go instead
For how to request an FBI Identity History Summary — the document usually called an FBI background check — go to the FBI: fbi.gov — Identity History Summary Checks. An outside link, offered because it is the primary source. This site has no relationship with the FBI and cannot act on your request.
Response expectations
Mail is read. It will not always get an individual reply — the time is better spent fixing the page than answering correspondence about it — and nothing here is a support channel for your own case. A correction that lands is worth more than a reply saying it did.
